RE: IRL rides - AllOfTheCars - 03-01-2016 03:59 AM

Quick render of what is to come for my car over the summer... I want to keep it sort of a secret, but I figured that I would reveal on here... I am planning on getting a custom straight pipe out the side, some new tires for my summer wheels, I am going to plastidip the whole car white, get some lowering springs to give it a 2 inch drop, black out the amber part of my tail lights and tint the red, and tint the windows... Nothing too crazy, but it should bring a dramatic change to the car. I should have enough funds to do it over the summer. I just need my overheating issue resolved first.

This is how she currently sits (ignore the crappy winter wheels)

have you ever used the white plasti dip before? I have. make sure you do even easily starts looking like a different shade of white. also make sure you do at least 3-4 coats. it needs to be thick enough to not be too much of a pain to remove.

sounds cool though!

I used it on my wheels... It turned out pretty cool. The only thing I am concerned about is that it is a pain to clean

Be careful with plastidipping your whole car, its good for lots of stuff but you get what you pay for and that shit can turn into a massive headache later on, especially if you are doing it yourself with cans, which is what i assume your gonna do. If your paying someone to do it or already know then just ignore this lol.

Also you should do like 5 coats minimum + a mid coat of grey might be a good idea too cus your cars a dark colour, with ideally a gun or dyc sprayer at the very least a trigger handle on a can.

How long are you aiming to keep it on for? Cause its a fucking pain to get off after its been on longterm when not done properly even on small surfaces, especially if they have been baking in the sun for a while.

Exactly its a real pain in the ass! I´m taking my subie to the paintshop in about 2 weeks or 3 to get a Metallic Red with white flakes on it!

I would find another route other than dip, It's a pain to get it all off. you could get body work done and paint correction on the original color.
