Well, it's technically not MY car per say, but i've had a big part in building it. It's my friends '97 GT Mustang. It's not anything to write home about since it's pretty stock but that's not to say that it's not a special car. We bought it in March of this year from a guy who didn't know what he had in Providence. It started out Rust-O-Leum Black and what looked like was applied with a paint roller to paint walls with. We stripped it down to bare metal, and started from scratch. It's got an Eibach lowering kit with Koni shocks, an '04 Mach 1 front lip, 3.73 Gears, Hurst short-throw kit, AirRaid air intake kit, and a few other mods. It's been in progress since May and we're just buttoning it up now. I don't have any complete pictures, but I do have a few that I took last week.

Sorry for the long post, I do have more pictures of when we stripped it down, primed it, painted it, etc.. but I didn't want to clog this thread up. It just needs to be wet sanded, but since it's at my friends house and he's hardly ever home it just kinda... sits. This car is something that i'm really passionate about, and it doesn't need to be a Ferrari. It's a $5,000 car, but it's one that speaks volumes about somebody. We took something that was nothing, and turned it into something. My friends gonna get a pair of 17" blacked out Saleen wheels for it as well. If you guys wanna see the complete breakdown of what we did, lemme know, and i'll post up some of the progress pictures.

Is that a Dale Earnhardt impala back there?

Also I completely agree with you about it not needed to be a Ferrari for a car to stand out.

RE: IRL rides - OptimusBling - 09-02-2014 07:58 AM

^ Holy shit, great eyes! Yes it is, it's the Earnhardt Monte Carlo. My friends father had special ordered it in '00 when it was announced.. But his was a rarity; It was a factory mistake. Normally they came with a Silver bottom (which this one has) and a red tape stripe above that (which this doesn't). I totally dig that you saw that though, that's an oddball car. That's my other friends E36 in front of that too, that needs rust repair done and some tuning (that's coming after the 'Stang though). I appreciate that you took time to check it out, like I said I take super pride in my work and being able to stand back and appreciate the work that went into it, there really isn't a word to describe it.

RE: IRL rides - gas23 - 09-02-2014 08:04 AM

Oh yea they're monte carlo's, my neighbor used to have one I loved that car haha.

RE: IRL rides - OptimusBling - 09-02-2014 08:21 AM

^ Yeah they aren't too bad, they have the 3800 I think so they can't be all too awful! It's just kinda sitting there though, it's got no tags and the sway-bar bushings are grilled cheese. It sure does make a nice lawn ornament though, amirite?
