Don't mod that car. Use it for while you learn to drive maybe even after you get your full license. Having a reliable first car is great, my first car was this,

I loved that car but I did want a different one. I got the GTI when right before I graduated highschool (shit I've this this car for a year next week...). Trust me I had tons of ideas for the taurus but there was no aftermarket support for it and I couldn't afford anything truly custom. Now that I have the GTI I'm slowly begining to be able to afford to mod it.

Anyway what I'm trying to say is learn to drive on that, maybe get into an accident (also a possibility when you're learning) then pick up something you really want and can customize like you want to in a year.

Also if you strip the interior and put in racing seats that would take out all of the functionality of a daily driver. Also I would consider that ricey on a 03 Malibu, just my 2 cents

it was a huge POS that my parents only paid $150 with my money! Angry i had been saving to buy my buddies 89 Integra LS 5 speed for $300 that needed wheels and tires and i came home to that hunk of shit and them saying SURPRISE, i almost killed them lol

TheTurbolessTurbo: In my opinion I think modifying the malibu is a bad idea. You probably won't be taken seriously by any car sence. I'd call it american rice. If it was my choice I would sell the car and use the money you saved up to buy a car you really want or that's reliable. My two cents, do you want in the end though.

Thank you all loads for your input!

My other idea that has kinda came to mind is, since the vehicle is a base model, might just find higher trim model parts and put them on to build a higher trim 'replica'.

It will give me the experience of building a car but won't ruin its appearance in the process.

i agree with Emptypie.. just save the money you would spend on putting parts on the Malibu and use the Malibu for a commuter..

id save money, keep the malibu, and buy a project car.. that way you have a daily and you have a weekend fun car Big Grin
